About the role

Designs software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation. Manages software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools. Estimates software development costs and schedule. Reviews existing programs and assists in making refinements, reducing operating time and improving current techniques. Formulates and defines specifications for software applications or modifies and maintains existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation. Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other task personnel. Responsible for quality assurance review and the evaluation of existing and new software products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop capabilities to shift from the current manual system security evaluation and authorization process to a new model that emphasizes automation, streamlined processes and approvals, continuous monitoring and assessment, and network data gathering across the entire life cycle of a project.
  • Support the NiFi team by learning Apache NiFi concepts, monitoring dataflows, reviewing processor status, checking queues, identifying errors, and assisting with basic troubleshooting.
  • Serve as a focal point for health and status flows by tracking dataflow availability, monitoring system status, identifying failed or degraded flows, and escalating issues to the appropriate technical teams.
  • Aid in onboarding new customer systems by tracking requirements, data sources, connection details, action items, blockers, and milestones.
  • Coordinate with customers and internal teams to gather onboarding information, provide status updates, document progress, and follow up on open items through completion.
  • Maintain organized onboarding trackers, status reports, documentation, and runbooks to ensure leadership, customers, and technical teams have clear visibility into progress.
  • Support basic dataflow validation by confirming that customer data is being received, processed, routed, and delivered as expected.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI with agency appropriate polygraph
  • Minimum 10 years experience in a technical field directly related to the labor category being proposed
  • High School Diploma/GED or Associate's Degree for 8 years experience
  • Bachelor's Degree for 6 years experience
  • Master's Degree for 4 years experience
  • Doctorate's Degree for 2 years experience

Qualifications

  • Experience or familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, CloudWatch, NiFi dashboards, or similar operational status tools
  • Basic Linux familiarity, strong technical aptitude, and willingness to learn application support, data engineering, cloud operations, and production troubleshooting
