About the role

The Application Developer (Mainframe Systems) will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining legacy enterprise applications while ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of mission-critical mainframe systems. The role involves new feature development, production support, troubleshooting, batch processing, data integration, interface management, and operational reporting. The developer will also support system modernization initiatives, data migration efforts, process documentation, and knowledge transfer while ensuring seamless business operations and accurate data flow across enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain legacy mainframe applications.
• Design and implement new application features.
• Provide application maintenance and production support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Perform routine system maintenance and performance optimization.
• Support mission-critical business applications and daily operations.
• Manage batch processing and interface workflows.
• Integrate data across upstream and downstream systems.
• Extract and prepare operational data for enterprise data lake.
• Support operational and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain high system reliability, availability, and business continuity.

Requirements

• Proven experience in developing and maintaining mainframe applications.
• Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and technologies.
• Experience with batch processing and interface management.
• Knowledge of data integration and extraction techniques.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with modernization and data migration initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mainframe development and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with IBM zOS, COBOL, CICS, IMS, and other mainframe technologies.
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL tools, and data integration platforms.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and operational reporting standards.
