Application Development Engineer

About the role

We're looking for an Application Development Engineer to join a team supporting existing enterprise applications through development, maintenance, and release management work. This is a hands-on opportunity to work on Node.js or Java-based solutions, contribute to cloud and CI/CD practices, and help improve the reliability and performance of critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance existing applications through ongoing development, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Design, build, test, and deliver code changes for application improvements and issue resolution
• Participate in release management activities, including code reviews and deployment support
• Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and business partners to analyze needs and deliver effective solutions
• Assist with monitoring, incident resolution, and data-related support for enterprise systems
• Contribute to the use of cloud technologies and CI/CD practices to improve delivery quality and efficiency
• Work within Agile and cross-functional environments to support team goals and project timelines
• Help maintain integrations and data workflows across supported applications and platforms

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in software development, application support, systems integration, or a similar technical role
• Experience working in healthcare or health insurance environments
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise integrations and data workflows
• Working knowledge of JSON, XML, and CSV data formats
• Experience with REST APIs and web services
• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS
• Programming experience with Node.js, Java, SQL, and stored procedures
• Experience with AWS Glue, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
• Comfort using development and support tools such as Jira, GitLab, Postman, Move It, Stonebranch, CyberArk, and Team Dynamix
• Exposure to Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server environments

Pay

The pay range for this role is $37 - $71 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
