Application Developer - 174424

Piper Companies is seeking an Application Developer to join a government contractor supporting a national security initiative. The role requires an active Top Secret clearance and onsite work at the client location in Herndon, VA.

Responsibilities

• Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
• Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject‑matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information‑processing techniques, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
• Correct program errors, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Ensure software standards are defined and met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–10 years professional Java development experience.
• Proven ability to work with XML and experience in COTS/FOSS integration and support.
• Ability to troubleshoot and navigate multiple operating‑system environments, including Linux and Windows.
• Experience with Angular and Kubernetes is a huge plus.
• Active Top Secret security clearance required.

Pay

$130,000 – $150,000+ (based on experience)
