About the Role

The Application Services Technology Consultant serves as a technical contributor and subject matter expert (SME) within specific technology environments and platforms. This role is responsible for defining systems scope, objectives, and requirements that align with client business strategies and industry standards. Working independently or as part of a project team, the consultant provides technical guidance on the business implications of technology solutions and package-based applications such as SAP, Oracle, and other enterprise software platforms. The consultant will support the design, development, testing, deployment, release management, and ongoing application management of client-specific solutions. This role requires strong consulting skills, technical expertise, business process analysis capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver effective technology solutions that meet business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Participate independently or within project teams to deliver technology consulting solutions that meet client business and technical requirements.
• Analyze client business needs and translate them into system requirements, functional specifications, and technical solutions.
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, end users, and technology teams during consulting and implementation projects.
• Define product scope, objectives, business requirements, and technical specifications for application enhancement and development initiatives.
• Create detailed functional and technical documentation to support development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain data models, process flows, and system specifications for software development and testing.
• Provide technical consulting and recommendations on complex projects involving enterprise applications and package-based solutions such as SAP and Oracle.
• Research, evaluate, and document emerging technologies, software solutions, regulatory requirements, and system enhancements that impact multiple platforms or applications.
• Participate in product testing, validation, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing activities as a subject matter expert.
• Support application deployment, release management, and post-implementation activities to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes, optimize system performance, and increase operational efficiency.
• Develop and deliver training materials and knowledge transfer sessions for clients, end users, and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to team planning activities and support achievement of organizational and client service objectives.
• Communicate project status, risks, issues, and progress updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Continuously develop consulting, technical, and industry knowledge to enhance service delivery and expertise in supported technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more enterprise technology platforms sufficient to function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• Experience supporting application design, implementation, testing, deployment, and application management activities.
• Strong understanding of systems analysis, business requirements gathering, and solution design methodologies.
• Ability to create detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and release management processes.
• Experience working with enterprise applications and package-based solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex business and technical issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions and translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with SAP, Oracle, or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.
• Consulting experience within a client-facing technology services environment.
• Experience with application optimization, system integration, and process improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Experience conducting user training, change management, and knowledge transfer activities.
• Familiarity with data modeling, business process mapping, and workflow analysis.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise system implementations and upgrades.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices relevant to supported technologies.
• Relevant technical certifications related to enterprise applications, cloud platforms, or project delivery methodologies.
