Application Analyst II

About the Role

This position is responsible for support and administration of single or multiple business applications and/or operations support systems. Key responsibilities include ensuring technical and operational performance, data integrity, and meeting operational business needs. The role involves identifying enhancement plans as business needs evolve, ensuring high-profile, high-risk projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to customer expectations. The position also drives process improvements to benefit the organization.

The role supports key business functions such as OSP facility inventory and assignment, address management, work order and build-related workflow management, and CAD/GIS applications.

Responsibilities

• Support Business Unit organizations on new systems development, major enhancements, day-to-day requests, and IT objectives.
• Proactively develop or coordinate development efforts to implement information systems solutions addressing business problems.
• Ensure applications meet operational business needs and establish business plans to support changes in strategy or operations.
• Project-manage enhancements that improve and upgrade systems.
• Provide recommendations, requirements development, and project management for information systems solutions.
• Complete requirements definition and system specifications, including gathering user input, defining business needs, analyzing alternatives, performing acceptance testing, and supporting user training.
• Analyze application components (screens, databases, interfaces, files, reports) to ensure data integrity and operational/technical performance.
• Manage vendors on development and architecture initiatives while adhering to industry standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Support users in problem analysis and resolution, set system and production schedules.
• Utilize developmental tools/languages to perform system enhancements, table updates, and generate reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (four years of college).
• 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Management or administration of information systems (e.g., altafiber or similar functions at another company).
• Experience with application lifecycle management and systems development methodologies.
• Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
• Experience with process analysis, workflow design, and business process improvement.
• Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases.
• Experience creating technical and user documentation.
• Experience working with third-party vendors, consultants, and service providers.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications, databases, integrations, and reporting tools.
