Application Analyst
About the role
Oakland Schools is seeking an Application Analyst to partner with Business Analysts in designing, developing, installing, maintaining, and modifying software applications or integrated programs, including ERP systems. The position involves analyzing user issues, recommending solutions, documenting customer issues, and providing efficient resolutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing application support for internal or third-party systems, including diagnosing application problems and designing solutions.
- Manage project definition, timelines, and conflicts, and oversee communications and project delivery.
- Analyze systems, identify potential problem areas, and provide recommended solutions to improve and streamline business processes.
- Design and implement applications using appropriate technologies, following SDLC methodologies, and ensuring high-quality applications are delivered to customers.
- Create and maintain documentation on programming problems and resolutions.
- Drive internal initiatives to enhance the performance, scalability, and efficiency of the organization.
- Conduct system administration to ensure applications meet systems requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field plus five or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience or equivalent training analyzing technical reasons for application behavior.
- Experience or equivalent training in System Design Life Cycle management or formal project management.
- Understanding of secure file transfer protocols and data management.
- Ability to document technical requirements clearly and concisely.
- Experience in writing scripting using modern programming languages.
- Experience with secure file transfer protocols.
- Understanding of using AI to develop web applications and websites.
- Experience in developing application UI/UX testing protocols.
- Experience in creating SQL statements such as complex SELECT statements.
- Understanding of accounting, human resources, or payroll regulations.
- Experience managing the technical impact of logging of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) transactions.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) certifications.

Pay
$89,118 - $103,350 salary based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential to earn up to $111,297 after employment with Oakland Schools.
Schedule
The position is eligible to participate in the Flexible Work Program, which permits employees to perform their job duties for up to two days a week from a designated alternative location.
