Appellate Attorney (Counsel or Senior Counsel) – California Offices

About the role

The opportunity is for an experienced Appellate Attorney with 10-15 years of experience in one of Seyfarth’s California offices, including Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles - Century City and Los Angeles - Downtown.

Responsibilities

• Work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking cases in collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Provide strategic insights during both pre-trial and trial proceedings.
• Contribute to creating the most favorable trial record in anticipation of an appeal.
• Consult on and draft jury instructions and verdict forms.
• Handle complex briefings throughout the trial.
• Deliver winning briefs and compelling oral arguments.

Requirements

• At least 10 to 15 years of significant litigation experience.
• Strong interest and ability in research, analysis, and brief writing.
• Significant prior experience in the appellate process, briefing appeals, and conducting oral arguments.
• Intellectual curiosity, a willingness to think outside the box, and a knack for finding practical solutions to complex problems.
• Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and admitted to practice in the State of California.

• Experience with appellate processes and procedures.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $255,000 to $340,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
