About the role
This position is responsible for ordering, stocking merchandise and maintaining the assigned section of the apparel department, and maintaining fixtures, displays, and signing. It also involves training, coaching, and directing all associates working within their specific area of the Home sections.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates, recognizes and ensures compliance with Customer service actions.
- Ensures compliance with stock displays, divisional signing, recovery, and merchandising standards, ticketing standards, corporate policies, planograms, composites, shrink control guidelines, and other relevant standards.
- Captures and organizes merchandising of the section, ensuring on-hand integrity, RMS updates as needed, and building and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Manages inventory control functions, coordinates and organizes merchandising, prepares for physical inventory, processes returns/exchanges, conducts stock counts, builds ends and displays, and maintains an awareness of current market trends.
- Engages with customers, sells products, teaches/demonstrates selling skills, participates in mandatory training programs, performs cashier functions, processes mail, and manages P & L responsibilities, seasonal sets, processes mismates, and responds to verbal customer comments/complaints.
- Assists in the inventory process, writes Intersection Transfers, and manages P & L responsibilities, seasonal sets, processes mismates, and responds to verbal customer comments/complaints.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Willing to be flexible and work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights as the work demands.
- Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
- Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
- Possess abilities and skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer services related to sale of merchandise.
- Related retail work experience.
- Familiarity with apparel sales terms and processes.
- Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
