Responsibilities

• Successfully completed checker training
• Handle stressful situations effectively
• Communicate clearly and effectively
• Perform basic math operations: counting, addition, and subtraction
• Meet minimum physical demands of the position
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Customer service experience desired
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus
• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Engage and assist customers
• Process customer transactions quickly and accurately
• Observe and follow shift operating hours
• Receive and process accurate payments, make change, and handle various tender types
• Understand and adhere to the Point of Sale system and company policies
• Record sales accurately and ensure proper balance on hand
• Avoid manual hand rings and close the loop procedures
• Complete transactions within allotted time to meet productivity goals
• Report pricing discrepancies as directed
• Stay updated with company directives and promotions
• Keep checkout area clean by wiping down surfaces
• Comply with safety procedures and report incidents
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines
• Follow merchandising, customer service, cash control, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, food safety, associate and customer engagement rules
