APP Supervisor - PA or CRNP - UPMC Grandview Surgical Associates
Pinnacle Health Medical Services is seeking a Supervisor Advanced Practice Provider (CRNP or PA) to support the General Surgery team at UPMC Grandview Surgical Associates in Camp Hill, PA. This hybrid clinical and leadership role focuses on inpatient care, including daily rounding, acute patient management, and assisting in the operating room.
About the Role
This position combines clinical responsibilities with leadership duties, overseeing Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) while contributing to program growth and operational efficiency. The team includes 10 physicians (plus 2 in Carlisle) and 7 APPs, with active resident involvement, providing inpatient, outpatient, and consultative care across multiple hospitals.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality inpatient surgical care, including rounding, consults, and acute patient management.
- Assist in the operating room (robotic experience/training required).
- Collaborate with surgeons, residents, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Support care coordination across multiple hospital sites.
- Supervise and support APP staff, including performance evaluations and day-to-day oversight.
- Lead APP onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Partner with leadership on recruitment, retention, and staffing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with documentation, coding, licensure, and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a liaison between APPs, physicians, and leadership.
- Promote consistent workflows, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with clinical problem-solving and issue resolution across sites.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a CRNP or PA.
- Three years of surgical experience strongly required.
- Prior leadership, supervisory, or preceptor experience preferred.
- Experience working with resident teams highly desirable.
- Must supervise at least 3 APPs.
- Maintain clinical practice at least 25% of the time.
- Precept at least 1 student per year.
- Maintain a Solid/Strong/Good or higher on annual performance evaluation.

Qualifications
- CRNP: Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program; current PA RN license and CRNP certification; national certification required.
- PA: Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited program; current PA license and NCCPA certification.
- Current CPR certification (ACLS/PALS as applicable within 30 days of hire).
- All required clearances (Act 33, 34, 73).
