APP Preoperative Clinic

About the role

The NCH Preoperative Clinic APP (Advanced Practice Provider) is a licensed NP or PA serving as a key provider on a team of clinical experts focused on enhancing patient care and surgical outcomes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Works with the preoperative clinic team to develop and refine new systems of care for surgery patients.
• Functions as the primary clinic provider with backup from an onsite perioperative medicine physician.
• Interacts with patients by phone, in person, and via email.
• Ongoing learning to stay current in perioperative medicine including:
• Review of current guidelines in various clinical areas.
• Attendance at national conferences.
• Creation of summaries of specific areas of knowledge.
• Willingness to teach, learn, and exchange ideas with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited school and completion of advanced practice or nurse practitioner program.
• Minimum of experience in clinical settings with outstanding teaching skills and the ability to facilitate organizational change.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in the State of Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 3 months of hire.
• Completes all NCH yearly competencies within the allotted timeframe.
• Maintains professional licensing requirements.
• Completes all continuing education requirements needed to practice as an Advanced Practice Provider.
• Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
