APP - Physician Assistant of Nurse Practitioner, | Family Medicine | Lidgerwood | Wahpeton (WIC)
About the role
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) position at Sanford Health's Wahpeton Clinic is dedicated to providing comprehensive care in both acute and long-term care settings. This role involves assisting physicians, assessing patients, and treating injuries and ailments. The NP also works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure care coordination and navigation.
Responsibilities
- Assists physicians in providing care to patients in acute, short and long-term care settings.
- Absorbs and interprets patient data to develop and implement appropriate diagnoses.
- Rounds on patients as necessary to monitor their care and ensure continuity.
- Develops and implements treatment plans and prescribes medications within the scope of practice.
- Maintains detailed patient records and updates them promptly.
- Counsels patients and families on health promotion, risk factor reduction, and treatment plans.
- Conducts research and applies evidence-based practices to improve patient care and clinical outcomes.
Requirements
- Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
- Licenses and certifications: Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing, DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances, and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) or (FNP-BC).
- Demonstrated current competence and provision of care, treatment, or services for an adequate volume of patients in the past twelve months, or completion of a master’s/post-master’s degree program in the past twelve months.
- Experience must correlate to the privileges requested.
- Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice.

Pay
$100,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
No nights, weekends, or holidays. Schedule would be Monday and Wednesday in Lidgerwood, Wahpeton WIC-Tues/Friday, Off Thursday Clinic only 2 days in Lidgerwood (primary care) and 2 days in Wahpeton (Walk-in Clinic).
