Job Summary

The Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care to patients of all ages, from infants to older adults. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic illnesses, promoting health and wellness, and working in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Experience in Primary Care Or Family Medicine (Preferred NP or PA).
  • New grads will be reviewed.
  • Experienced APP preferred.

Requirements

  • Schedule is Monday- Thursday. No nights, weekends, or holidays.
  • Clinic only, primary care in a solo practice clinic.
  • Have support of 2 nursing staff (1 for rooming and 1 for lab/imaging), 1 patient access, PT outreach.
  • Connected to the Wahpeton provider group for collaboration (2 days Walk In Clinic).
  • Required FTE 0.8.

Comprehensive physical exams and health assessments, obtaining and interpreting patient histories and diagnostic tests, diagnosing and treating common acute and chronic medical conditions, prescribing medications and therapeutic treatments within the scope of practice, developing and implementing individualized care plans, providing health education and counseling on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices, managing follow-up care and coordinating referrals to specialists when needed, performing minor procedures as appropriate (e.g., wound care, suturing), documenting patient care accurately in the electronic health record system, participating in quality improvement and practice initiatives, collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members, maintaining current knowledge of evidence-based practice guidelines.
