Short Description
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated new-to-practice nurse practitioner (APN) or physician assistant (PA) looking for an innovative and comprehensive fellowship program. This is a 12-month fellowship designed for new or newer to practice APNs or PAs that are passionate about advancing their clinical and professional practice in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical services consistent with the fellow’s education, training and experience level and will be performed under the supervision of a preceptor and collaborating physician.
- Complete a quality, performance or process improvement project and/or research project suitable for publication or presentation.
- Attend all assigned educational events and seminars that have been incorporated into this program.
- Rotate to multiple roles within critical care including medical critical care, neurological critical care and trauma-surgical critical care.
- Participate in structured evaluations regarding progress such as but not limited to case study presentations, preceptor and program director performance evaluations, and demonstration.
Experience & Education Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience
- Master's Degree - Nurse Practitioner with Acute Care certification or Physician License/Certification
- New Jersey license for Advanced Nurse Practitioner & Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
- Nurse practitioners, must be acute care certified; PA NCCPA AHA BLS & ACLS certifications
- Eligibility for DEA and CDS certificates.
Special Requirements
- Graduate of master's or doctorate degree program
- Licensed and certified in the state of NJ as an acute care nurse practitioner or physician assistant
- Two letters of recommendation from (1) academic from a faculty member (2) professional/clinical from a preceptor or clinical supervisor
- Unofficial transcript from graduate APP program
