About the role

The Advanced Practice Provider is an advanced practice nurse who is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the delivery of evidence-based nursing interventions for patients of the NCH Medical Group. The APP works in collaboration with the APPs, management team, peers, and staff to advance nursing and promote the development of an evidence-based professional practice environment.

    • Work to Ensure Effective Protection and Implementation of Patients' Bill of Rights
    • Serve as Liaison to the Medical Staff
    • Independently Manage Electrophysiology and Cardiology Patients
    • Provide Outpatient Clinic Assistance
    • Coordinate EP and Cath Lab Cases
    • Collaborate with Attending Physicians, Hospitalists, and Multidisciplinary Teams
    • Supervise and Mentor Cardiology Fellows
    • Provide Senior APP Coverage
    • Work Closely with Research Coordinators
    • Interpret and Troubleshoot Device Checks
    • Make Changes in Device Programming/Reprogramming
    • Problem Solving
    • Represent NCH Medical Group in the Community
    • Strategic Planning
    • Marketing Plan

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of experience in clinical with outstanding teaching skills and the ability to facilitate organizational change
  • Must have Board Certification in area of specialty, board eligible candidates will be considered with commitment to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
  • License as an Advanced Practice Provider in the State of Florida
  • BLS certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 3 months of hire
  • Completes all NCH yearly competencies within the allotted timeframe
  • Maintains professional licensing requirements
  • Completion of all continuing education requirements needed to practice as an Advanced Practice Provider
  • Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
