About the role

Bender Companies is seeking a skilled and dedicated Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at our community in Carpentersville. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively
  • Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally
  • Maintain property grounds by removing trash, leaves, branches, and other debris to keep common areas clean and attractive
  • Support the completion of unit turnovers and make-readies, including painting, repairs, and cleaning as needed
  • Affordability of work
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
  • Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management
  • Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours maintenance emergencies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Reliable transportation to get to work
  • 1+ year of experience in apartment maintenance, facilities, or residential construction
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents, vendors, and team members
  • Familiarity with basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, and appliance maintenance
  • Ability to work independently, follow directions, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license

Pay

The Pay Range For This Role Is 24 - 25 USD per hour(Eden Prairie Apartments)

Schedule

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM (hours may vary)
