Apartment Maintenance Technician

About the role

Barrington Residential is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team in Tonawanda, NY. This is a full-time regular position with potential for weekend and evening shifts.

Responsibilities

• Show care and concern for residents through excellent service ticket resolution and preventative maintenance
• Resolve maintenance issues related to minor electrical, plumbing, construction, painting, appliance repair, and general maintenance
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in through turn-over repairs and improvements
• Preserve the beauty of the building and safety of the community through general upkeep, cleanliness, snow removal, and grounds maintenance
• Provide outstanding customer service to residents
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies
• Participate in safety training as required
• Be available for emergency situations at the property, including an on-call rotation

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in building maintenance or an education in the trades (Preferred)
• General knowledge of tools
• Availability for emergency situations at the property, including an on-call rotation
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds of force frequently
• Personal, reliable transportation to get to work and to respond to on-call emergencies
• Adequate communication skills both written and verbal
• A sharp professional appearance
• Ability to regularly walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and stand for long periods
• Ability to work outside and regularly exposed to all weather elements including extreme cold or heat, rain, sleet, and snow

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in residential painting: 2 years (Preferred)
• Experience in residential plumbing: 2 years (Preferred)
• Experience in residential electrical: 2 years (Preferred)
