Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department
- Supervise, mentor, and develop AP staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
- Oversee invoice processing, payment runs, employee reimbursements, and vendor management activities
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, internal controls, and accounting standards
- Review and approve invoice coding, payment batches, and vendor account reconciliations
- Partner with departments across the organization to resolve payment issues and improve workflows
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, audits, and financial reporting requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and best practices within the AP function
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and financial systems
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems
- Experience with Workday Financials or similar ERP systems preferred
- Prior experience in higher education, nonprofit, or other complex organizational environments is a plus
