AP MANAGER
Overview Of The Ap Manager Role
Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts Payable team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Manage daily AP operations, workload distribution, and employee performance.
Surely timely and accurate processing of invoices and vendor payments.
Monitor AP aging reports and proactively resolve outstanding items.
Oversee AP automation tools and third-party integrations to improve efficiency.
Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
Days Payable Outstanding (DPO)
Early Payment Discounts
Invoice Exception Rates
Conduct monthly reviews of outstanding liabilities and payment trends with finance leadership.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, internal controls, and departmental efficiencies.
Partner with Accounting, Finance, Purchasing, and Operations to support company-wide initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
Preferred Qualifications For The Ap Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of five years of progressive accounting or accounts payable experience.
- Previous supervisory or management experience required.
- Experience analyzing AP metrics and implementing process improvements preferred.
