AOT Audit Specialist II

Audit Specialist position within the Finance & Administration Division of the Agency of Transportation (AOT), supporting the Internal Audit Team with financial reviews, internal control evaluations, and coordination for annual financial reports and audits.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial reviews of indirect cost rates and invoice reviews
• Conduct rate schedule reviews for pending contracts
• Evaluate internal controls, identify gaps, and develop corrective action plans
• Coordinate with various agency sections to collect, review, and prepare department records for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and Annual Single Audit
• Support improper payment reviews conducted by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
• Provide consistent and complete documentation to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

• Associate's degree or higher in accounting, business management, or related field
• OR two (2) or more years of experience in financial operations, including auditing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Experience in a government audit role

Work is performed in a standard office setting with occasional in-state and out-of-state travel.
