Anticipated Opening : Paraprofessional

About the role

A paraprofessional is a school employee who works under the direction of a certificated staff member to support and assist in providing instructional programs and services to children with disabilities or eligible young children. The support and assistance may include one-on-one or group review of material taught by certificated staff, classroom management and implementation of positive behavior support plans. Services may be provided in a special education class, regular education class or other instructional setting as provided in the student's IEP.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of special education and/or early childhood development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities or eligible young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Skills

• Positive behavior support plan implementation.
• Classroom management techniques.
• One-on-one and group instruction.
• Special education and/or early childhood development knowledge.

Pay

Salary range: $18,000 - $25,000 annually.
