About the role

The role involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program, preparing lessons for diverse learning styles, and adhering to state and district guidelines. This includes establishing classroom management procedures, evaluating student progress, and collaborating with other professionals to support student needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lessons that accommodate different learning styles
• Teach within the prescribed course of study for the subject area at the appropriate grade level
• Plan lessons leading to subject area objectives and maintain written lesson plans for substitutes
• Utilize various media and methods to motivate students and maximize instructional time
• Evaluate and record students' progress and communicate findings to parents as necessary
• Assist students with health, attitude, and learning issues and participate in open house and PTA meetings
• Coordinate the work of aides and other paraprofessionals and student teachers
• Participate in the development of evaluation systems and maintain accurate records
• Perform all other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Knowledge of various routine tasks, duties, and procedures
• Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing world
• Willingness to stay updated with the latest developments in the profession
