About the Role
This position involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum program, ensuring written evidence of preparation. The role requires teaching within the course of study prescribed by state law and district policies, while accommodating diverse student learning styles.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations.
- Establish and maintain efficient classroom management procedures and standards of pupil behavior.
- Develop and implement a system of student evaluation within state and district guidelines.
- Continually evaluate and record student progress, reporting to parents as required.
- Plan lessons leading to subject area objectives and prepare written lesson plans for substitutes.
- Utilize a variety of media and methods to motivate students and optimize instructional time.
- Identify student needs and collaborate with staff to address health, attitude, and learning challenges.
- Be available for student and parent counseling before and after school.
- Interpret educational programs to the community through events like open house and PTA meetings.
- Plan and coordinate the work of aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers (when applicable).
- Participate in the development of evaluation systems in line with district guidelines.
- Maintain accurate student records and file all required reports and documents.
- Perform additional assigned tasks and duties as required.
- Ensure regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for the subject and grade level assigned.
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to perform routine tasks, duties, and procedures with minimal previous experience.
- Flexibility to adapt to the challenges of a rapidly changing educational environment.
- Commitment to staying current with the latest developments in the teaching profession.
Work Environment
The role operates in a moderately noisy environment, with travel throughout the district being integral. Remote work or alternate arrangements are not available for this campus-based position, as on-site attendance and duties are essential.
Pay
Minimum salary: $68,000.00.
