Animal Therapy

Description

Elara Caring, one of the nation’s largest providers of home-based care, is seeking compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families.

Pet Therapy Volunteers

• Must have an already certified Therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International, West Michigan Therapy Dogs, or Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs.
• Volunteers must have their own certified Therapy dog.
• The handler must provide the dog’s health record (current DHLPP, Bordetella, Rabies, and fecal tests).
• The handler must also provide a therapy certification and a certified liability insurance policy.
• Hours are flexible, typically weekdays, evenings, and weekends, with requests for 1-2 hours per week.
