About the role
Conduct laboratory animal care and associated support duties under close supervision according to standards set forth by the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (the Guide) to maintain full accreditation status with the Association for Assessment & Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
Responsibilities
- Processes both clean and dirty cages.
- Maintains records of preventive maintenance tasks.
- Provides input for Cage Wash SOPs.
- Performs housekeeping duties in assigned areas.
- Helps with new supply and equipment deliveries & distribution.
- Adheres to the cage wash facility traffic flow (clean versus dirty).
- Assists with rack disassembling and other heavy equipment transportation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Education And Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Required Credentials:
- N/A.
Preferred:
- Laboratory/animal husbandry experience with mice and rats.
- Experience operating cage washers and autoclaves.
