Animal Lab Tech Lucien-Matteoni Lab Part time Limited Tenure

Responsibilities

• Prepares tissue, blood and other specimens for routine testing.
• Participates in maintenance and identification of animals to be used in experiments.
• Affords assistance in surgical procedures on animals as needed.
• Records results, reports unusual outcomes.
• Collections, enters, and reports data.
• Demonstrates lab techniques to designated lab personnel.
• Affords assistance in maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Additional relevant laboratory experience and familiarity with animal welfare practices preferred.
• Computer experience is helpful.
• Must have the ability to carry out basic routine techniques independently.
• Desires to work closely with lab animals.
• Must have above average manual dexterity.
• Be able to endure exposures to heat, noise, dust, dander, animal bites, and chemicals.

Pay

• $21.55-30.22/ hour

• Hrs/Pay Period: 40
• Hrs: M-F 8am-4pm
• Will vary with lab needs
• Weekend Schedule: Occasionally depends on lab needs
