About the Role
We are seeking a part-time Animal Technician responsible for monitoring daily animal health and welfare while performing animal husbandry duties to maintain the quality and health of our animals. Training will be provided for daily tasks such as feeding, cleaning, and visual welfare checks. The ideal candidate is reliable and able to commit to a consistent schedule. This opportunity is well-suited for individuals looking for a flexible, part-time schedule. This is an onsite position based in our Animal Facility in Dixon.
Schedule
- 2 hours per day on Sundays and Mondays, with flexibility to start between 5am–9am PT.
- Occasional flexibility to work other days as needed.
- Weekend and holiday work may be required based on the determined schedule.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the health and well-being of the animals and provide food and water.
- Collect data daily and enter it into databases.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain records to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to biosecurity measures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and English fluency.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to commit to a consistent, part-time schedule.
Nice to Have
- Experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in animal husbandry.
- Experience with safety requirements and animal handling best practices.
Pay
The base compensation range for this position is $25–$27 per hour. The range provided is an estimate; actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
