About the role
The Fulton County Police Department seeks an experienced Animal Control Supervisor to oversee a team of Animal Field Services staff.
Responsibilities
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff
- Develops and oversees employees' work schedules
- Evaluates employee performance
- Interprets and enforces policies and procedures
- Investigates complaints and violations of animal laws and regulations
- Conducts investigations and prepares written reports
- Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment
- Assists officers and dispatch with managing caseloads
- Communicates with various stakeholders
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in animal science, Zoology, Veterinary Technology, Criminal Justice, Biology, or related field required
- Three (3) years of experience in animal control with understanding of state and local laws, regulations, codes and ordinances or related field
- Two (2) years of experience as an Animal Services Officer II or Bite Investigator (Fulton County Government Police Department—current or former employees only), to include one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience
- Valid Georgia driver’s license
- National Animal Control Association (NACA) ACO (Animal Control Officer) I, NACA ACO II, and NACA ACO III certificates within 24 months of employment
