Responsibilities
- Perform daily animal husbandry tasks including feeding, watering, and cage cleaning
- Maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness of animal housing and lab environments
- Monitor animal health and report any abnormalities or concerns to research staff
- Ensure compliance with institutional animal care protocols and federal regulations
- Assist with handling and care of laboratory animals used for research and testing
- Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and environmental conditions
Qualifications
- 1+ year of professional animal care or husbandry experience (required)
- Prior experience as an Animal Caretaker or similar role (required)
- Experience handling laboratory animals in a research or healthcare setting
- Understanding of animal welfare standards and compliance requirements
- AALAS ALAT certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols
Compensation
Compensation for the Animal Caretaker Technician includes:
- Salary range: $21/hr (Depending on Experience)
