About the role

The Virginia Beach SPCA (VBSPCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential pet services to the Hampton Roads community. Our team includes Shelter professionals such as Shelter Leadership, Animal Care Technicians, and Customer Service Representatives, who work together to meet the growing demand for our services.

Responsibilities

• Create a humane and enriching experience for shelter animals by providing compassionate care.
• Work closely with other team members in the Kennel to ensure the Five Freedoms are met for all dogs in care.
• Engage in meaningful connections between dogs and potential adopters.
• Support the VBSPCA's mission of eliminating animal suffering and increasing human compassion.

Requirements

• Enjoy being around animals.
• Have great customer service skills.
• Be organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with animals preferred but not required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to handle stress and remain calm under pressure.
• Positive attitude and ability to connect with people and animals.

Pay

$15.25 per hour

Schedule

Full-Time positions are 40 hours a week, staffed every day of the week from 8am to 6pm.
