About the role
This Position Is Specifically For Those Who Are Comfortable with handling animals that include but are not limited to canines and felines. Energetic, attentive to detail, consistent and dedicated. Task oriented and self-accountable. Punctual and present to work during scheduled days and times.
Responsibilities
- Hands on handling of animals (primarily canines & felines)
- Enforcing a kennel routine
- Feeding/watering according to a set schedule
- Daily various enrichments
- Observing animal behaviors and health
- Cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting kennels, equipment and other items
- Aiding with grooming and bathing activities
- Interacting with pet owners and performing adoption meet & greets
- Monitoring pets' conditions and communicating with onsite veterinary technicians and the onsite veterinarian
- Keeping records related to pets' physical conditions, feedings and other activities during time of stay
- Achieving efficient and accurate record keeping
- Customer service friendly
- Computer efficient
Requirements
- Comfortable with handling canines and felines of all sizes (both large and small)
- Comfortable with handling potential fractious and/or distressed canines and felines
- Confident in loud, fast-paced environments
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
- Able to walk, stand, crouch and bend for long periods on concrete floors for up to 6 hours at a time
