About the role

The Animal Care Technician position is an opportunity for motivated, driven individuals to showcase their ability to multitask and work as a team. The ideal candidate will add value through performing daily chores, collecting research data, assisting veterinarians, promoting animal well-being, and managing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and perform daily chores repeatedly under the direction of senior staff and veterinarians.
  • Collect research data and samples in accordance with study protocols and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Absorb and report on abnormalities observed during veterinary procedures.
  • Promote and maintain the well-being of animals including feeding and basic care.
  • Repair, maintain and operate equipment/machinery.
  • Perform administrative duties that support the care of animals and site functions.
  • Record information both timely and accurately.
  • Build relationships with key individuals and contributors in the organization and beyond.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience working with animals; large and small.
  • Proven experience working with large farm equipment/machinery.
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain composure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as communicate effectively both written and orally.
  • Attention to detail and analytically driven.
  • Dependability, flexibility and ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to be on call and in on-call rotation, including weekends.
  • Live within a satisfactory distance to assist in on call purposes and procedures.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly.

Qualifications
