Animal Care Tech/ Retail Adoption Clerk

Purpose

The Animal Care Technician and Retail Adoption Clerk is responsible for caring for and socializing animals, maintaining clean environments, and professionally assisting the public with adoptions, including paperwork, electronic data entry, and fee handling. This is a part‑time weekend position.

Responsibilities

• Care for and clean animals; provide socialization and enrichment.
• Facilitate adoptions and collect adoption fees.
• Enter adoption information into the electronic system.
• Work with and schedule volunteers; train volunteers on adoption protocols, paperwork, fees, receipts, and iPad entry.
• Clean and sanitize cages, food and water bowls, litter pans, floors, windows, and laundry.
• Lift and move feed bags; stock and organize supplies and donations.
• Handle aggressive, injured, or sick animals as needed; transport animals when necessary.
• Attend adoption events and assist staff with animal vetting.
• Ensure timely delivery of adoption deposits.
• Maintain the retail Adoption Center and Playroom clean, tidy, and fresh‑smelling at all times.
• Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferably at least 1 year of administrative or office experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience working with animals is preferred.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license.

Schedule
