Animal Care Intern

About the role

Arc Broward, a non-profit organization based in Sunrise, FL, is seeking pet treat bakers from its Animal Care program. The organization has been working since 1960 to change how people with disabilities and other life challenges are embraced and included in their communities.

Responsibilities

• Baking: Assists in scratch baking pet treats from different recipes. Learn about proper ingredients to measure, mix, and trim into various pet-friendly shapes.
• Package and label treats with attention to detail.
• Supplies and Equipment: Keep kitchen areas clean, organized, and operating efficiently by enforcing adherence to operating instructions.
• Customer Service: Display behaviors and attitudes that cultivate and maintain relationships with staff, students, vendors, customers, and agency co-workers.
• Safety: Maintain a safe, secure, legal, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing sanitation and quality of food preparation and service standards and procedures. Ensure sanitation of the kitchen and all service areas.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Arc Broward Animal Care Certificate of Completion

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of Arc Broward's Animal Care certificate program.
