About the role

Responsible for daily operations of the Animal Adoption Center. Facilitates adoptions by actively reaching out to the public.

Responsibilities

• Counsels potential adopters in selecting a pet that fits their lifestyle.
• Discusses the responsibilities of pet ownership.
• Shows animals to prospective adopters during shelter hours.
• Provides information about specific animals and answers questions.
• Explains the adoption process to shelter visitors.
• Processes online and in‑person adoption applications.
• Reviews, selects, and contacts new applicants for potential adoption.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Preference for two (2) years of related animal care experience or training.
• Preference for experience in a public animal services facility.
• Associate’s Degree in Animal Care and Management Technology preferred but not required.

Skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
