About the role

The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine (SSVM) at Rowan University is seeking an experienced Veterinary Anesthesiologist to join our growing Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Full-time and part-time appointments will be considered, offering flexibility for candidates seeking a clinical, academic, or blended professional role.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive veterinary anesthesiology services within the SSVM Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital while contributing to clinical teaching, student mentorship, and continued service excellence.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, providing advanced patient care and playing an important role in educating future veterinarians.
• Contribute to the continued growth and expansion of specialty services, helping to develop innovative approaches to veterinary clinical education.
• Engage in scholarly activity or clinical research consistent with individual interests, contributing positively to a collaborative and supportive hospital culture.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
• Completion of a veterinary anesthesia and analgesia residency or comparable specialty training program.
• Board certification or board eligibility through the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated expertise in veterinary anesthesia, analgesia, and perioperative patient management.
• Strong interest in clinical teaching and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Previous teaching, mentoring, or academic experience is preferred.
• Experience managing complex or high-risk anesthesia cases is preferred.
• Interest in anesthesia and analgesia education, simulation, or clinical skills instruction is preferred.
• Interest in clinical research or scholarly activity is preferred.
• Experience developing clinical protocols, patient-safety programs, or quality improvement initiatives is preferred.
• Interest in advancing academic specialty practice within a collaborative environment is preferred.

Pay

In accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act, the anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000–$200,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications, experience, clinical expertise, academic rank, appointment track, and appointment percentage.

Schedule

This is an open-rank faculty appointment (Instructor through Full Professor) available on either the Clinical Track or Tenure Track, depending on qualifications, experience, and professional goals. Both full-time and part-time appointments will be considered. Faculty rank, appointment track, responsibilities, and effort allocation will be determined at the time of appointment based on the successful candidate's qualifications, career interests, and the needs of the School.
