This faculty member will provide supervision and education of residents and medical students within the Department of Anesthesiology. Rank is dependent on qualifications (Instructor or higher).
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 clinical supervision of residents and medical students or significant involvement with each resident when supervising.
- Attend GMEC committees, conferences, etc. as requested by the Chair or Program Director.
- Participate in ad hoc GME activities.
- Complete monthly resident evaluations within 1 week of the end of their rotation.
- Attend educational sessions, including M&M conferences, Journal Clubs, and visiting professors.
- Provide a minimum of 2 didactics per year.
- Participate in semi-annual Clinical Competence Committee processes.
- Participate in departmental simulations and research activities.

Requirements
- Education: MD, DO, or foreign degree equivalent.
- Board Certified in Anesthesiology (or actively pursuing such certification if less than 4 years from the end of residency).
- Demonstrated didactic and intra-operative teaching skills.
- Knowledgeable of ACGME residency requirements.
- Must be able to obtain hospital privileges at a KUSM-Wichita affiliated hospital (Ascension Via Christi Hospital or Wesley Medical Center).
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in an anesthesia sub-specialty.
