Practice Details
We are seeking an Anesthesiologist to join our team at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH), where you'll work alongside 10 anesthesiologists and an Anesthesiology Assistant in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia services for a wide range of surgical specialties, including orthopedics, urology, ENT, plastics, obstetrics, and gynecology
- Provide labour analgesia for approximately 300 deliveries per year (epidural rate of 50%)
- Operate a Preoperative Anesthesia Consultation Clinic two days per week
- Care for patients aged 2 and older
Qualifications
- Experience in both general and regional anesthesia
- Comfortable caring for patients aged 2 and older
Compensation
- Clinical Service Contract
- Estimated Remuneration: Approximately $500,000 + MOCAP Level 2
- No overhead cost
Benefits and Incentives
- Retention Flat Fee: $17,790.72 (may be eligible in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement)
- Relocation Funding Available: $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location
- Recruitment Incentive: $15,000 (for full-time)

Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) provides personalized and comprehensive care for 85,000 residents across the region. Capabilities include round-the-clock emergency and trauma care, intensive care, acute medical conditions, renal dialysis, and neonatal intensive care. Specialists cover ophthalmology, otolaryngology, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, plastic surgery, psychiatry, urology, general surgery, obstetrics & gynecology, neurology, oncology, and internal medicine. The 24-hour High Acuity Response Team (HART) highlights the facility's role as the regional hub for critically ill and injured patients.
