Position Responsibilities

• Provides “bedside” clinical teaching of residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists and others.
• Participates in the didactic teaching programs of the department at this institution and attends conferences, rounds, and staff meetings as required by Chair.
• Pursues clinical or laboratory research and other scholarly interests independently but within the guidelines of the Institution and department.
• Participates in clinical trials depending upon interest and area of specialization.
• Serves on various departmental, School of Medicine, university or VCU Health System committees as requested by Chair or determined via individual interest.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• ABA board eligible/certified in anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
• Eligible for employment in the United States
• Good communication, clinical and teaching skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Salary Range

Commensurate with experience
