Anesthesia Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia technician services under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia care provider.
• Clean, sterilize, disinfect, stock, and maintain routine anesthesia equipment.
• Maintain anesthesia medications, supplies, and equipment according to schedules and clinical needs.
• Prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre-, intra-, and post-anesthesia.
• Apply age-specific considerations to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of monitors and equipment; report defects or malfunctions immediately.
• Maintain departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Document and maintain preventive maintenance and quality records.
• Assist with transportation of patients and laboratory specimens as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma in Anesthesia Technology or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician or in a relevant clinical area.
