Anesthesia Technician

Job Summary

You will provide critical support in the safe and efficient administration of anesthesia, assisting providers with equipment and supplies for diverse surgical and non-surgical cases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medications before, during, and after cases.
• Perform complex procedures under direction (e.g., setting up and assisting with line placement, intubation, extubation).
• Manage supply inventory, room turnover, and patient positioning/transport.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot all equipment according to instructions and the protocols of equipment manuals.
• Perform pre-surgical preparation, set-up, and equipment testing.
• Stock anesthesia supplies and drugs in all operating and delivery suites.
• Absorb and assist with arterial and intravenous catheter insertion and autotransfusion.
• Absorb and assist with induction/emersion, Swan Ganz-CVP insertion, and regional blocks.
• Calibrate and support of technical, janitorial, and logistic in all service areas.
• Clean and disinfect anesthesia equipment after use.

Required Job Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED
• One (1) year of experience in the health or patient care related field
• Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia course, IV competency and Arterial line insertion competency completed, within 6 months
• American Heart Association BLS
• American Heart Association ACLS, within 6 months
• Six (6) months experience working in an operating room
