About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates records on personnel, budgetary and purchasing transactions, and verifies and reconciles departmental statements.
  • Tracks and monitors expenditures, notifying management of status and/or concerns.
  • Reviews inquiries, provides information and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas referring inquiries to appropriate persons as required.
  • Initiates and processes standard forms and documents such as personnel action forms, purchase orders, vouchers, and invoices.
  • Organizes activities and/or events for department such as scheduling room, ordering food, sending invitations, preparing agenda, etc. according to pre-determined guidelines or standards.
  • Sets up and maintains departmental equipment and supplies.
  • Assigns, coordinates and reviews the work of other secretarial/clerical personnel for conformance to established guidelines.

Requirements

  • Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post-high school clerical training equivalent to two years of full-time employment, including experience with word processing.
  • Previous experience working in a college/university and/or healthcare setting secretarial support role (1-3 years) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the ePro, ProTrav, Epic, APR, and QGenda systems.
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post-high school clerical training equivalent to two years of full-time employment, including experience with word processing.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.

Pay

Starting Salary Minimum: $39,859.92
Starting Salary Maximum: $59,340.96
