Responsibilities
- Maintains and updates records on personnel, budgetary and purchasing transactions, and verifies and reconciles departmental statements.
- Tracks and monitors expenditures, notifying management of status and/or concerns.
- Reviews inquiries, provides information and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas referring inquiries to appropriate persons as required.
- Initiates and processes standard forms and documents such as personnel action forms, purchase orders, vouchers, and invoices.
- Organizes activities and/or events for department such as scheduling room, ordering food, sending invitations, preparing agenda, etc. according to pre-determined guidelines or standards.
- Sets up and maintains departmental equipment and supplies.
- Assigns, coordinates and reviews the work of other secretarial/clerical personnel for conformance to established guidelines.
Requirements
- Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post-high school clerical training equivalent to two years of full-time employment, including experience with word processing.
- Previous experience working in a college/university and/or healthcare setting secretarial support role (1-3 years) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the ePro, ProTrav, Epic, APR, and QGenda systems.
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post-high school clerical training equivalent to two years of full-time employment, including experience with word processing.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.

Pay
Starting Salary Minimum: $39,859.92
Starting Salary Maximum: $59,340.96
