Analyzer Technician

Responsibilities

  • Maintain online analytical instrumentation through preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure equipment functionality and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of all analytical equipment calibrations in accordance with site quality procedures and documentation best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues that impair proper functionality of analytical systems.
  • Work with the Operations, IEA Specialist, and Maintenance Supervisor during a typical day.

Requirements

  • Adhere to and uphold all safety policies and standards.
  • Maintain safe and efficient operation of the Analyzer equipment using established operating disciplines and procedures.
  • Achieve safety and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain plant assets and protective systems integrity.
  • Investigate deviations and propose solutions to mitigate them.
  • Complete assigned training and action items from PHAs, incidents, audits, etc. in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Instrumentation Degree preferred.
  • Enhanced Skills Certificate preferred.
  • 5+ years plant maintenance experience.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Gas Chromatographs, Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) analyzers, Total Organic Compound (TOC) analyzers, HACH analyzers.
  • Basic knowledge of PSM.
  • Proficiency using root cause failure analysis.

Behavioral Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Safety role model.
  • Problem-solving skills with data analysis ability.

ADA Physical Requirements

  • Outside Light Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Inside Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Performance Indicators

  • Meet or exceed plant production goals.
  • Improve MTBR/MTBF.
  • Achieve SHE metric targets for safety and environmental incidents.
  • AsCare, 20P, MOC/PSM compliance achieved.
