Analyst, Sourcing - Import

About the role

This position will have oversight of Strategic Sourcing in a designated area for Tractor Supply Company. The role is responsible for leading sourcing efforts to drive the best cost, quality, and execution worldwide, working closely with Buyers, Planners, Imports, Logistics, Transportation, Vendors, Quality Assurance, and Marketing.

Responsibilities

• Support the Product Development team by finding the best value (cost, quality, and execution) factories.
• Support the merchant team by ensuring impeccable execution of all imports and domestic sourcing, driving the program from production planning through delivery.
• Track continuous improvement in cost, quality, and lead times.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including Product Development, Agents, Factories, Imports, Logistics, Inventory, QC, and Merchants, to ensure timely execution.
• Ensure timeliness, completion, and accuracy of vendor and SKU setup, audit, testing, and QC.
• Contribute to and attend team, department, division, and corporate meetings.
• Develop expertise in internal and external systems necessary for strategic sourcing.
• Understand and communicate worldwide sourcing trends for designated categories, including country regulations, duties, exchange rates, labor rates, raw material availability, and costs.
• Support the onboarding of new factories and agents.
• Assist the Director in leading and maintaining factory and agent relationships, negotiations, bid/rebid processes, and execution, including system setup, tracking, and reporting.
• Participate in tactical meetings with vendors and manufacturers to develop strategy and business partnerships.
• Plan and organize domestic and overseas travel, coordinating with Agents, Sourcing, Product Development, Merchants, QA, and Factories to ensure productive goals aligned with department priorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in sourcing/product development.
• Bachelor’s degree in a sourcing-related field or equivalent relevant experience.

Skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
• Experience and understanding of manufacturing, component costing, factories, molds, and production processes.
• Experience with retail sourcing and product development operations for large-scale omni-channel retailers.
• Experience and understanding of QA/QC processes and testing.
• Experience working with overseas travel, offices, and agents.

Working Conditions

• Normal office working conditions.
• Travel up to 20%, including both domestic and international.
• Physical requirements: Sitting, standing (not walking), walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
