Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day activities involving provisioning, instrumentation, facility maintenance, and upkeep to optimize laboratory operations
  • Manage laboratory projects end to end, from idea through onboarding and installation of new instruments
  • Coordinate laboratory moves for facility projects
  • Ensure routine and unscheduled equipment maintenance is performed within acceptable timeframes, effectively collaborating with external partners and organizations
  • Collaborate with IT to manage and maintain computer and automation systems, including system upgrades and issue resolution
  • Work closely with scientific staff and leaders to foster an ongoing partnership focused on efficient operations, improved automation, and workflow process improvements
  • Collaborate effectively with project team members while adhering to established procedures, priorities, and timelines
  • Maintain general laboratory safety standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Scientific field, Engineering, Information Systems/Computer Science, or Business is required
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management and change management experience
  • Working knowledge of laboratory or highly controlled facility operations, information systems, instrumentation, automation, safety, and compliance
  • Prior laboratory bench experience or laboratory/operational management experience for candidates with a scientific background
  • Experience managing laboratory or facility renovation projects
  • Experience with and understanding of laboratory automation

Pay

The salary range for this role is $62,000 to $85,000 or the hourly equivalent. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications.
