Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of a project or work in progress and apply knowledge gained to future projects.
- Develop a general understanding of Myers and Stauffer services and the work environment; maintain punctuality.
- Respond to all inquiries and requests.
- Strive to attain goals established by direct supervisors.
- Assist in designing and maintaining Medicaid payment methodologies for hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Use SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, or similar tools to analyze large datasets and develop actionable recommendations.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward self, other professionals, clients, and the firm.
- Gain proficiency in administrative programs, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet research.
- Work iteratively by incorporating team feedback, validating assumptions, and refining analyses.
- Maintain accurate, organized electronic documentation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of protected health information.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Intern must be working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.
- Active participation in student organizations and work experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively multi-task, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize assignments.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Interest or experience in SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, or large-dataset analysis.
- Interest in learning Medicaid concepts.
- Proficient use of applicable software programs, including the Microsoft Office suite.
Skills
- SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, or similar data analysis tools.
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Data analysis and actionable recommendation development.
Schedule
This position is on-site in our Kansas City, MO office and requires 40 hours per week. The schedule is flexible within a traditional Monday–Friday business week.
