Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of a project or work in progress and apply knowledge gained to future projects.
  • Develop a general understanding of Myers and Stauffer services and the work environment; maintain punctuality.
  • Respond to all inquiries and requests.
  • Strive to attain goals established by direct supervisors.
  • Assist in designing and maintaining Medicaid payment methodologies for hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  • Use SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, or similar tools to analyze large datasets and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward self, other professionals, clients, and the firm.
  • Gain proficiency in administrative programs, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet research.
  • Work iteratively by incorporating team feedback, validating assumptions, and refining analyses.
  • Maintain accurate, organized electronic documentation.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of protected health information.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Intern must be working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.
  • Active participation in student organizations and work experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Interest or experience in SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, or large-dataset analysis.
  • Interest in learning Medicaid concepts.
  • Proficient use of applicable software programs, including the Microsoft Office suite.

Skills

  • SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, or similar data analysis tools.
  • Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Data analysis and actionable recommendation development.

Schedule

This position is on-site in our Kansas City, MO office and requires 40 hours per week. The schedule is flexible within a traditional Monday–Friday business week.
