About the role
This position supports the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by serving as a subject matter expert on health facility licensing regulation issues. The incumbent is responsible for the research, analysis, drafting and overall development of regulation packages for licensing health care facilities. The position requires the application of public health models, health care program design, and delivery principles of proposed regulation development for the Center for Health Care Quality (Center). The incumbent works with issues of extreme sensitivity with statewide importance and is integral to the Center's mission. The incumbent works under the general direction of the Supervisor II.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on health facility licensing regulation issues
- Research, analyze, draft, and develop regulation packages for licensing health care facilities
- Apply public health models and health care program design principles to proposed regulation development
Qualifications
This position is classified as Analyst III. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Pay
- Salary range: $6,623.00 – $8,290.00 A
- In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025, which temporarily reduces employees' monthly base pay by 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown do not reflect this reduction.
