About the Role

Under the direction of the Program and Project Supervisor, the incumbent performs analytical and administrative functions supporting enterprise risk management, risk and compliance, and division operations within the Utility Audits, Risk & Compliance/Risk and Compliance Branch (RCB) of the California Public Utilities Commission.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research and analysis.
  • Prepares reports, presentations, and other materials.
  • Supports risk and compliance activities.
  • Monitors audit and compliance information.
  • Develops policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Serves as backup Human Resources Liaison, Timekeeper, and Budget Control Officer.
  • Coordinates personnel, timekeeping, budget, and recruitment activities.
  • Supports staff training on compliance requirements and enterprise risk management.
  • Performs special projects and other assignments as needed.

Requirements

  • Eligibility for the Analyst II or Analyst I classification (see examination bulletins for details).
  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL) with specific details provided in the application.
  • Submission of a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) addressing specific questions (see Special Requirements for details).
  • Completed STD 678 state application with detailed employment information.
  • Transcript or diploma if using education to meet minimum qualifications.
  • Foreign degree/transcript equivalency verification if applicable.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s) for Analyst II ($6,031.00 - $7,547.00) or Analyst I ($3,861.00 - $6,276.00). New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Skills

  • Experience developing standard and ad hoc reports and presentation materials.
  • Experience conducting research, analyzing information, and developing solutions.
  • Experience managing competing projects, priorities, and deadlines.

Special Requirements

Submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) no smaller than 11-point Arial font, single-spaced, and no more than three pages, addressing the following:

  1. Explain how your education, training, and experience qualify you for this position.
  2. Describe your experience developing standard and ad hoc reports and presentation materials.
  3. Describe your experience conducting research, analyzing information, and developing solutions.
  4. Describe your experience managing competing projects, priorities, and deadlines.

The position requires a valid California Driver's License (CDL). Provide CDL details in the application.
