Job Description

The Fintech Licensing Management Group at Paul Hastings seeks a licensing analyst to support clients in the fintech space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in state and federal licensing requirements, particularly in money transmission, lending, and related areas.

Responsibilities

  • Work with licensing clients across various areas including money transmission (fiat and crypto), lending, loan brokering, collections, mortgages, and other state registrations and licenses.
  • Prepare and compile state license applications, leading license acquisition, change of control, and maintenance projects.
  • Advising clients on licensing and product development strategies, and assisting with acquiring and maintaining licenses on their behalf.
  • Research and apply applicable federal and state regulations to clients' products and services.
  • Support clients with third-party relationships and external stakeholders such as regulators, auditors, law firms, surety bond providers, etc.
  • Develop compliance and risk management programs, including drafting policies and procedures and implementing new compliance processes.
  • Contribute to new product development and strategic initiatives that help clients leverage licenses and scale their regulated businesses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • At least 6+ years’ regulatory licensing experience in the payments and lending spaces, including de novo licensing, changes of control, and ongoing regulatory reporting and compliance at both federal and state levels.
